*Late arrivals will be asked to sign in and wait in the office until 9am for the AM sessions & 1pm for PM sessions before being allowed into class so not to disturb the direct teaching time. Parents are responsible for looking after their children whilst they wait in Reception to be taken into their class.

If your child will be late or absent, please notify the office via telephone or email.

NB: Pupils returning to a Slough school, who have been taken off roll will be re-admitted to the school only if the school has a place available. Where a place is not available, the parents must apply for a place at an alternative school.

Bringing Your Child to Nursery

Please arrive promptly so that the children do not miss the introduction session and can take full advantage of the learning opportunities. Please do not arrive before or afer the times stated above as the gates will be locked. Parents are responsible for looking after their children until they have handed them to their own member of staff.

Collecting Your Children From Nursery

We need to know who will be collecting your child each day. Children will not be released if we do not have this information in advance and if the collector cannot provide us with your password. Persistent late collection of children will result in a fine. Social Services will be contacted if a child is not collected. If bringing and collecting your child is delegated to another person, please ensure they are 16 years old or over.

Absence

Always let us know if your child is going to be absent.

Attendance registers are kept and it is necessary to either phone, email or write a letter to the Nursery giving reasons why your child is not able to attend. Unless you advise us, the absence will be recorded as unauthorised. If the total number of unauthorised absences is more than four weeks (20 days) in any school year, your child may be removed from the register.

Authorised absences might include any child's illness, medical or dental appointments which are impossible to organise outside school hours, days of religious observation or unexpected family circumstances.

Children should not be brought to school unless they are fit and well. If your child has had sickness or diarrhoea, please notify the Nursery and keep him/her at home until at least 48 hours after the last episode.

Please note we will NOT administer medicine at school except in circumstances of long term illness and where a medication form has been completed.

Leave of Absence Taken During School Term Time

The Government discourages parents from taking their children out of school during term time.

If no request is received for your child to be taken out of school or no call is made to Nursery to advise us of the reason for your child's absence (i.e. sickness etc.), the time taken will be treated as unauthorised absence. If the total number of unauthorised absences taken in any school year exceeds 4 weeks (20 Days) your child may be removed from the register.

Absence Request Forms are available from the school office or click on the link to download a copy.
